Sharing Jesus Around the World
Dr. Terry Schultz holds degrees in music, educational psychology, theology, and missions, including a Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism and Missions from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He also completed training at the Peruvian Air Force Jungle Survival School.
Terry and his wife Mary have over 25 years of mission experience. They spent 15 years in Peru, where Terry began outreach to the indigenous Shawi people—an experience that inspired the Jungle Journals. Mission work in the Amazon led to the development of Shawi schools. Terry and Mary later lived in the Dominican Republic, traveling regularly to Haiti to establish Lutheran schools. This group is now overseen by the nonprofit organization Branch Lutheran Schools of Haiti.
Since 2016, Terry has served as the Artistic Development Missionary for WELS Multi-Language Productions. He promotes the use of culturally appropriate art—music, dance, theater, puppetry—in Lutheran missions worldwide and supports visual Bible teaching tools for low-literacy communities, including the Luther’s Small Catechism in Pictures project.
Terry is the author of several books, including Escaping the Deathtraps, No More Fear: Jesus, the Evil Spirits, and You, and Rescued from the Belly of the Beast. He has led workshops and training in places such as Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal, Vietnam, and Zambia.
Terry and Mary now live in Milwaukee, WI, where they continue to explore their love for the arts, including photography and music.
